Possible curfew for teenagers after stabbing death in Pastaza
Several crimes in the province of Pastaza are being attributed to teenagers. As a result, local authorities in Puyo, the capital, are considering establishing a curfew for young people.
Last weekend, police say two attacks were carried out by teenagers. Jaime Alvarado, 25, was swarmed by a mob of teens on March 30 and stabbed several times. He died of his injuries.
And in the early hours of Monday April 1, another group of teens stabbed another citizen, who is in critical condition at a local hospital.
The chief of police says the first attack was carried out by six people. Four youths are in custody, and one adult and one minor are on the run.
Police will say inthe next few days when the curfew will be enacted. Unofficial sources say it would go from 11 p.m. to 6 p.m. every night.
