La serie fantástica Game of Thrones, del canal HBO, lideró hoy las nominaciones a la 66 edición de los premios Emmy con un total de 19 nominaciones, incluida la candidatura a mejor serie dramática.

Las miniseries Fargo y American Horror Story: Coven también aspiran a un buen botín en la ceremonia con 18 y 17 candidaturas, respectivamente, mientras que la película para televisión The Normal Heart, emitida por HBO, recibió 16 nominaciones.

Breaking Bad, que concluyó el 29 de septiembre de 2013 y se alzó finalmente con el ansiado galardón de mejor serie de drama el año pasado, obtuvo también 16 nominaciones, incluidas las candidaturas de mejor serie dramática y mejor actor (Bryan Cranston).

La colombiana Sofía Vergara, que aspiraba a su quinta nominación consecutiva a los premios Emmy, se ha quedado fuera de la lucha por el premio a la mejor actriz de reparto de comedia por su trabajo en la serie Modern Family.

Según anunció hoy la Academia de la Televisión, las contendientes en ese campo son Julie Bowen (Modern Family), Allison Janney (Mom), Kate Mulgrew (Orange is the New Black), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), Mayim Bialik (The Big Bang Theory) y Anna Chlumsky Veep).

En el terreno dramático, los actores elegidos fueron Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Kevin Spacey (House of Cards), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom), Matthew McConaughey y Woody Harrelson, ambos por True Detective.

Las actrices designadas en ese campo fueron Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife), Claire Danes (Homeland), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex) y Kerry Washington (Scandal).
