Un bus de la cooperativa Santa Rosa de Colimes (colimeña) y un tráiler se impactaron frontalmente en el km 78 de la vía Guayaquil-Balzar, a la altura del recinto Relicario (entre los cantones Palestina y Balzar).

El hecho ocurrió a las 20:30 del martes y provocó la muerte del conductor del micro, identificado como Rubén L., de 28 años.

El chofer del otro vehículo pesado resultó herido y fue trasladado a una casa de salud de Guayaquil.

Un agente de la Comisión de Tránsito del Ecuador (CTE) informó que el bus estaba fuera de línea y era llevado a un garaje. Por esa razón no iban pasajeros, pero sí la esposa de la víctima, su hermano y uno de sus 3 hijos, menor.

Testigos mencionaron que una llanta de emergencia se cayó de otro tráiler y causó que los conductores, al tratar de esquivarla, perdieran el control y se impactaran.
